WELCOME

Welcome to my new blog. This is my first attempt at a blog and my goal is to promote active communication and shared learning throughout the district and to be as transparent as possible so all constituents know what is new and what is going on not only in the district but in the state. My special thanks to Bing (BHS) for my lesson in blogging.
When I looked up transparency I found that transparency is a means to another end: a trusting environment. Increased transparency helps develop a culture in which trust abounds, an environment that eventually creates an association that is satisfying and enjoyable to join and participate in. I learned that one of the prerequisites of a culture of trust is open access to common information.
Hopefully this will serve as one vehicle to keep the information flowing.

Hi,
Just a suggestion if you want to get your blog out into the blogosphere...link it to the home page of the district webpage, which is the first place people will look when they want to find you...and make sure that every time your name is mentioned as a contact, that you have a link there too...and every time you write something, like your latest post on learning centers, link all the sources. Put the addresss on your business card. Each entry you write should have several links to it so that the blog is truly interactive and takes readers in many directions. For example, when you write about RTI, link to the latest source about it. When you discuss books, link to a direct source discussing the book, etc. And set up a feed to yourself so you'll know when someone posts to your blog. Blogs require significant maintenance to keep them going and to make them a communication medium, but it sounds like you want to give it a go... Good luck! BPS teacher

Thanks so much for your information. I do have some of your suggestions in place. I already have a feed set up so that I know when someone posts to the blog. I am just beginning with the links. I have set up some of the labels but I need to work on this area. Readers also can now subscribe to the blog, they just have to clink onto subscribe . I appreciate your input. I will keep working on this to make it a communication medium.
